We would like to officially, with open and happy hearts welcome Reverend Daren Smart and his family; wife Julia Smart, son Andy, and son Cole to Fair Bluff Baptist Church. Daren and his family have accepted God’s calling to come to Fair Bluff Baptist Church and continue the path that God has set before them and us. The Smarts are coming to us from Yadkin Baptist Church near Lenoir, NC. We are excited to see how His Holy Spirit will continue to move in the lives and souls of not only the members of Fair Bluff Baptist Church, but also in the surrounding communities under Daren’s leadership. Daren will begin his journey with us as our pastor on Sunday, December 6th.

Welcome to our church!

In Mark 12:28-31, one of the teachers of the Law asked Jesus this question, “Of all the commandments, which is the most important?” “The most important one,”
answered Jesus, “is this: Hear, O Israel, the Lord our God, the Lord is one. Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength. The second is this: Love your neighbor as yourself. There is no commandment greater than these.”

Our heart’s desire at Fair Bluff Baptist Church is to love God and to love others.
Our Mission Statement is to know Christ, to grow in His love, to serve Him, to share with others, and to be unified in Christ’s family.

Fair Bluff Baptist Church has recently experienced two devastating floods, but God has walked with us in every step of our recovery journey. We invite you to
join us as we seek to worship God and as we rely on the Holy Spirit to empower us as we reach out to our community, state, nation and world with the love of

Dear Fair Bluff Family,

In the short time that we have been here, you have taken our family right in as part of your own. Little did we know that we would have several challenges that we would navigate together almost immediately. We lost loved community members. Julia lost her grandmother. And both of our families were hit hard by COVID-19. You prayed. You supported. You encouraged.

As my Dad became critical and he went into hospital a second time---A multitude prayed and sent messages of support--- So many that I haven't been able to answer them all.

So many people have lost dearly loved family and friends to COVID-19. I pray for them---some of you have seen that loss personally-- and so many that have experienced that pain prayed so selflessly for us.

Daddy was struggling-- he still is. Covid brought on a heart attack-- and eventually heart failure, which he was deep in the grips of on Saturday and into Sunday. Doctors said his heart was damaged badly. His lungs were barely functioning. The ventilator was almost a sure bet. I knew that the only sure hope was prayer. You prayed.

I was struggling to drive to Lenoir in my old Bronco. My mind was going a mile a minute and I was pulling over every little bit to get it together.

I finally got other side of Gastonia--I was talking to God and that hazey dim feeling lifted and I felt peace and relief. At almost that moment, my phone rang-- It was my little brother, Dillon. He said: "The new EKG just came in....Dads heart is fine. They got several ML of fluid off...no more heart failure. Got him calmed down and oxygen saturation is coming up some...staying on the bipap. He is acidotic from the infection."

Today, Dad was able to get to High Flow oxygen. His body is working very hard. His lungs, as with any COVID patients lungs, are in rough shape. He isn't out of the woods yet.

Prayer. Faith. That's what got us this far. I thank you, but to GOD be the glory for getting us this far! He holds the power of Heaven and earth in His hands!

Thank you for caring. Thank you for taking care of my family--Thank you for letting us be part of yours. We are thankful to call Fair Bluff, NC HOME.
